LATIS SCIENTIFIC
Latis Scientific are the market leading provider of laboratory services in the water hygiene sector proving essential services across a range of sectors such as hospitals, schools, retail and leisure.

With their state of the art facilities based in London, they form part of a UK Laboratory division providing services across the contaminated land sector in addition to strong links with other Suez Group Laboratories in Spain, LabAqua.
THE BRIEF
Latis Scientific approached Albus Environmental with a unique and problematic issue that had resulted in them seeking out a long term, viable and sustainable solution going forward.
Following the loss of capacity for the disposal of their infectious clinical waste, and with an emergency service provider driving higher costs and sporadic service delivery,; they had no option but to look at where their services could be guaranteed. Fundamentally, they needed guaranteed on-going capacity, full chain of custody of the disposal of this hazardous waste, capping of rising costs and a service provider that they could rely on.
In terms of the sector of operation, Latis Scientific’s waste is only suitable for treatment at a high temperature incinerator and finding such a partner to provide this service was proving almost impossible.
THE ALBUS ENVIRONMENTAL APPROACH
Albus Environmental were recommended to Latis Scientific through another scientific facility within the research sector. Following a site visit and comprehensive review of their annual waste tonnage, a proposal was put forward that guaranteed capacity over a three-year period taking into account any rising costs within the industry.
Following the site inspection, it was also recommended that a further benefit to the service would be the provision of segregation support to ensure full compliance through correct packaging and transportation in a cradle to grave process.
